Derrick Williams, born 25 MAJ, 1991 is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Timberwolves. He was considered one of the best prospects for the 2011 NBA Draft. He was selected second in the 2011 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Derrick Williams originally committed to play at the University of Southern California, but requested a release from his letter of intent when coach Tim Floyd pulled mid allegations of NCAA rules violations.

As a freshman Williams averaged 15.7 points per game and was named a freshman All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year.
